Day 2 Cape Town | Meals: B
Depart this morning your choice of a full day tour to the Cape Peninsula or Cape Winelands. Choose the Cape Peninsula and see for yourself how this spectacular southern tip of Africa became known as the "Fairest Cape". Drive along the Atlantic seaboard past Camps Bay, Clifton and Llandudno, referred to as "Millionaires Paradise". Visit Hout Bay and its harbour where there is time to take an optional Seal Island Cruise. Continue along Chapmans Peak to the Cape of Good Hope Nature Reserve and its scenic viewing point. Stop at Boulders Beach to see the African penguins, and then travel through the naval port of Simon's Town. Simon's Town is situated on False Bay and is rich in history, character and atmosphere. Or, spend the day meandering around the Cape Winelands, sampling wines that are among the finest in the world. Take in the tranquillity and beauty of Paarl, Franschhoek and Stellenbosch in the Cape Winelands. Experience the rich historical and cultural heritage while sampling wines of merit at local well known wine estates
Day 3 Cape Town | Meals: B
The day is at leisure today to explore on your own. You might want to take the ferry to Robben Island or, if the weather permits, take the cable car to the viewing point at Table Mountain. We can also make suggestions for optional touring.
Day 4 Cape Town-Private Game Reserve | Meals: B
This morning, you will be transferred to Cape Town International Airport to take the scheduled flight to Hoedspruit or Mpumalanga (depending on your choice of private game reserve.) Settle into your lodge or camp and then select an afternoon game activity.
Day 5 & 6 Private Game Reserve | Meals: BLD
Spend two full days in the South African bush, in search of the Big Five and more. No matter which game reserve lodge or camp you select, you are assured of amazing game viewing. Two game activities are included each day. Mornings in the bush usually start with a hot cup of tea or coffee and a biscuit before heading out on an early morning game drive. The sun is just coming up and you may be lucky enough to spot the big cats after a night of hunting. You are in Big Five country so the chances of seeing them all during your stay are quite good. Breakfast awaits when you return to the lodge and then the time is yours to relax and enjoy the amenities of the lodge or camp. Game walks are usually offered every day and we recommend taking at least one walk as you get an entirely different perspective of the Bush by foot. Later in the afternoon, you'll head out for your second game drive. Just as the sun begins to set, you'll stop and enjoy a sundowner as you watch the gorgeous African sunset. Then, the tracker turns on the spotlight and your game drive turns into a search for the predators of the night on the prowl. It's always exciting! Your evening ends back at the lodge for dinner and stories over the campfire.
Day 7 Private Game Reserve-Depart | Meals: B
Your adventure comes to an end today as you are transferred to the airport to begin your journey home. Or, why not extend your tour to Victoria Falls - see the South Africa Discovery Tour for a full itinerary.
Welcome to South Africa! After clearing customs and immigration formalities, you will be met and transferred to your choice of hotel. The remainder of the day is at leisure.

×Sabi Sabi Earth Lodge
Sabi Sabi was acquired in 1980 and over the ensuing 20 years Sabi Sabi has achieved fame throughout the world as an acclaimed ecotourism operation.
Sabi Sabi's roots are firmly in place and through its philosophy, principles and commitment to the sensitive ecological environment in which it operates, will ensure that it will play a major role in the development of the ecotourism industry over the next decades.
Sabi Sabi's conservation philosophy is based on two principles:
The first is the need to conserve our rapidly dwindling areas and to provide a sanctuary for fauna and flora as part of our heritage.
The second is the belief that the only way a wildlife sanctuary can survive the onslaught of socio-economic pressures is by creating employment, earning foreign currency, paying tax and promoting sustainable tourism. It must be a true example of eco-tourism effectively linking tourism with conservation and the community. Our environmental management system is a holistic one, where the ecological needs are balanced with the needs of people and their communities, i.e. focussing on the interdependence of tourism, conservation and local communities.
Our environmental management policy / philosophy is stated as follows:
We need to conserve our rapidly dwindling wilderness areas and to provide a sanctuary for fauna and flora of our heritage. The only way a wildlife sanctuary can survive the onslaught on socio-economic pressures is by:
Employing people
Earning foreign currency
Paying tax
And promoting sustainable tourism
Each member of the Sabi Sabi team receives ongoing training in all areas of our business, empowering them, improving their skills, and has a thorough understanding that each individual's performance reflects and is dependant on the performance of other members of the team.
In the rural subsistence areas surrounding Sabi Sabi, the ratio of breadwinner to dependant is over 1 to 10. Therefore over 170 Shangaan employees at Sabi Sabi, support over 1700 dependants. These people are directly or indirectly dependant for their livelihood on the success of our enterprise and each and every one of us carries with him that responsibility and pride.
Sabi Sabi Private Game Reserve defines eco-tourism as the interdependence of tourism, conservation and local community thereby ensuring the optimum tangible benefit to each of the above.

But the wilderness is disappearing at an alarming rate. It is up to us to provide a sanctuary for our flora and fauna - not only for our children, but for their children too - in a manner that creates employment, earns foreign currency and contributes to the growth of the country through the development of eco-tourism.

EARTH LODGE
Sculpted deep in to the earth.
Almost invisible in the landscape.
Inspired by the textures, colours and shapes of the natural world.
Here, you are at one with the wilderness.
A corridor leads you down, on a journey beneath the ground, to an experience unique and unforgettable.
Your entrance brings you to an uninterrupted bushveld panorama. A sense of peace consumes you. You are cocooned in luxury, inspiration and grace.
There are twelve suites only, in addition to the Amber Suite. Each is attended by a Private Butler and is appointed with specially commissioned furnishings, a secluded plunge pool and open air shower. The natural sculptures of Geoffrey Armstrong add a powerful magic. The Amber Suite is generous beyond belief in its dimensions and boasts its own exercise room, steam room, study and kitchen. It captures art and luxury in one unique experience.
The boma, its walls sculpted from roots and built up piece by piece, captures the drama of an African night and embraces the power of the wilderness.
You can renew yourself in this place. The Earth Nature Spa and exercise centre. Massages, natural therapies or a classic spa. A secluded library. Art gallery. Meditation garden. Everything has been created for your indulgence.
Dining in a subterranean cellar will be a celebration you are not likely to forget.
Your own armed and knowledgeable Game Ranger and Shangaan Tracker will take you deep into the bushveld by open land rover or on foot. Close enough to share in a thrilling encounter with Africa's beautiful wild creatures.
Our commitment to the Earth
Wilderness is vital to mankind. For in the wilderness we strengthen our bonds with the Earth and find peace with ourselves. So many of the answers we are searching for lie hidden in these places.
But the wilderness is disappearing at an alarming rate. It is up to us to provide a sanctuary for our flora and fauna - not only for our children, but for their children too - in a manner that creates employment, earns foreign currency and contributes to the growth of the country through the development of eco-tourism.
