Day 6 Ngorongoro-Serengeti | Meals: BLD
Soar across the plains as your included light aircraft flight takes you into the Serengeti and your first lodge in the center of the park. After lunch at the camp, we're out on an afternoon game drive. The Serengeti is the largest park in Tanzania and it plays host the largest migration on earth. Keep your game viewing list handy as you will likely spot lion, wildebeest, zebra, gazelles, giraffes and much more.
The Siringit Serengeti Camp by Mantis is located under a canopy of Tortillas Acacia trees along the wildlife migration trails. The migration passes through the camp in April-June. There are an astounding 500 different species of bird recorded in Serengeti National Park. Wildlife migrates daily through the camp and it is possible to game view and bird watching from the verandah of your tent.
The ten exclusive luxury canvas tents are designed to offer guests privacy, seclusion and intimacy in the remote setting of the Serengeti plains. Each tent sits atop a wooden platform raised 30 centimeters from the ground and has a generous sleeping area complete with lounge space. An ensuite bathroom with "his and hers" wash hand basins, large shower and proper flush toilet complete each guest tent. The family tent is appointed to the same high standards. A great deal of thought has gone into the detail of each tent and, as you would expect in a property of this standard, an in-tent safe, hairdryer, toweling robes, a gas fired heater for use on cold nights, leather fasteners with brass buckles on windows and doors and an array of other carefully thought out finishing touches are only some of the surprises we have in store for our guests.

Day 7 Serengeti | Meals: BLD
A full day of game viewing will fly by in the Serengeti. Watch the kopjes (small hills) for cheetah - it's a favorite spot for them to hunt their prey. Along with learning about the amazing wildlife, your guides will also tell you about the plant and insect life of the Serengeti - each playing a role in the delicate eco-system. One of the most common trees you'll see in the Serengeti is the Sausage tree - easily spotted by the long fruits (which are poisonous) that hang from the tree and release their seeds as the pulp rots. The Maasai believe if you hang a sausage tree fruit in their hut it will ward off whirlwinds.
